Allianz Partners and BDAE deepen their cooperation in 2023

In 2023, Allianz became the new risk carrier for the international specialist BDAE. The two companies then reaffirmed the strong partnership during the Allianz team's visit to BDAE.

New risk carrier for BDAE

Allianz Partners is now the insurer for the following insurance products: EXPAT INFINITY (worldwide and unlimited international health insurance), EXPAT FLEXIBLE (worldwide basic insurance for up to 5 years), EXPAT PRIVATE (high-performance and worldwide international health insurance for up to 5 years) and EXPAT GERMANY (health insurance for foreigners in Germany with a maximum validity of 5 years) as well as for the products EXPAT BUSINESS and EXPAT BUSINESS PREMIUM (international health insurance for expats, i.e. employees working abroad).

"Allianz is a globally valued risk carrier and an internationally established partner. For people going abroad on a long-term basis, round-the-clock service from anywhere in the world is an absolute must", says BDAE Managing Director Philipp Belau. "We are very pleased to strengthen our existing partnership with Allianz.”

Joint outlook into the future

The visit to the BDAE headquarters was also about jointly defining the strategy for the future of the insurance landscape. The guests Michael Baltes (Head of Sales NCEE at Allianz Partners), Kai Großheim (Sales Manager Germany at Allianz Partners), and Karsten Jacke (Key Account Manager at Allianz Partners) spoke with Philipp Belau and the assistant to the BDAE management, Larissa Kartal, about the future of the market, especially when it comes to insurance for longer-term and permanent stays abroad.

The BDAE has been a specialist in this field for over 25 years and offers a wide range of insurance for emigrants, expats, digital nomads, and globetrotters. The BDAE international health insurance products offer reliable health coverage to people all over the world. The products are available to Germans abroad as well as to anyone else who is drawn to a foreign country in the mid to long term future.

"The BDAE is characterised by decades of expertise in providing cover for private individuals abroad. As the market leader for assistance and insurance solutions in the area of travel and mobility, we are therefore an excellent fit with the orientation of BDAE and are happy to make our financial strength and expertise available to this successful insurance company. For Allianz Partners, this partnership is the logical way to expand the business field of international health insurance," Michael Baltes comments on the cooperation with BDAE.

Deepening a long-standing existing partnership

"During the last few years, a lot has changed in the field of mobility. Innovative solutions and reliable partners are more in demand than ever. We claim to always offer the best possible protection with the best possible partners. The cooperation between Allianz and BDAE ensures exactly that," Kai Großheim also explains.

Allianz has been an extremely reliable partner for BDAE in the area of assistance services for over ten years. A year ago, for example, BDAE successfully implemented the digital health assistant "Emma" with Allianz in BDAE's international health insurance products (see info box).

Your alternative to asking Google medical questions

"Emma" combines the best of both worlds: A competent chatbot that can be reached around the clock and from anywhere, and a direct way to contact a doctor for more complex questions. If you are unsure about the first symptoms of an illness, "Emma" offers a chatbot-based symptom checker. At the end, there is a comprehensive assessment based on the information provided with corresponding recommendations. For example, you may be advised to visit a medical facility. You will also receive a written summary of all symptoms mentioned with a tentative diagnosis. Further communication with a doctor takes place personally via chat. Sometimes "Emma" even replaces one or two visits to the doctor's office, which saves costs and time for insured persons.
