Special visa for digital nomads in Brazil

Working remotely has become very popular after the pandemic. More and more people are leaving their traditional jobs and becoming “digital nomads”. A rising trend even before the pandemic, digital nomads can work from anywhere in the world, provided that they have a laptop and an internet connection.

If you are also considering becoming a digital nomad, or are already one, why not go enjoy Brazil’s sun?

In Brazil, digital nomads can now apply for a special visa

In hopes of attracting more digital nomads in their country, the Brazilian government introduced a new visa in 2022. Anyone eligible can trade their ordinary cubicle for an “office” in the immediate vicinity of beaches, enjoying pulsating cities, and the many dreamlike landscapes Brazil has to offer. This visa lasts for one year and can be extended for another year after its expiry date.

Brazil is now part of the various countries which offer such visas.

Entry requirements for digital nomads

If you want to stay in Brazil as a digital nomad and stay for less than 90 days, you’ll be able to stay on a tourist visa and will only have to fulfil the applicable requirements depending on your nationality. Beyond 90 days, however, you will have to apply for this new visa.

Information on how to apply and the documents required can be found here.
