How the application procedure works
- Use our online application service to take out insurance cover. Sending the application does not mean that insurance cover has automatically been taken out. That means that there is not yet any insurance cover and no contributions need to be paid yet.
- Should you be unable to provide all details straight away, or if further documents are required to be filled out by your doctor, this can be done within 14 days following the date of application. To upload these details you can use our web-upload (https://webupload.bdae.com/) or get in touch with our customer service team (info@bdae.com). Your application can only be processed once all documents have been received.
- Once we have received all the necessary documents, your application will be reviewed by our team. Should BDAE have any questions, our application team will get in touch with you. For products with risk markups, you will be informed of the calculated additional charges/surcharges. Only in very few cases are we unable to offer potential customers insurance cover.
- Once all documents relevant to your application have been received and approved by our application team, we will send you confirmation of cover with the date of commencement and notes regarding premium payments.
If your application is rejected, the transmitted data will be deleted within the statutory periods. - In the case that a risk markup has been calculated, you will receive an insurance quote which will require your signature. If you would like to take out the insurance policy, please submit the signed quote to BDAE. Following confirmation, we will send you confirmation of cover which will state the commencement date and payment instructions.
- That’s it! You’ve successfully taken out your international health insurance.
